Hi all,

With the political situation and riots in Kenya at the moment are flights to and from Kenya being affected?
Are flights to NBO and MBA being cancelled?

As far as I am aware flights ex UK are operating under normal conditions. Just looking at the loads for VS on tonights flight for example they are:

J24 (out of 40)
W4 (out of 28)
Y89 (out of 187)

on inbound sectors loads are pretty much full in all cabins and more often than not overbooked in economy obviously.

Not so "under good conditions":

Fuel shortage in Kenya and Great Lakes region as a result.

KL is stopping in KRT to fuel. Not sure about VS or BA.

Do BA and VS crew stay in NBO ?? KL and SN have removed their crews from NBO, AFAIK.

Hello,
We do stay in NBO although our actual hotel has changed for a short time.

Looks as though passenger loads are right down.
Are crew still staying in NBO hotels or have other plans been made?

Hello all
Sad things happening here in Kenya are causing ripples in the local aviation industry. Yesterday KLM announced rerouting of their AMS flights thru DAR for crew rest stops citing Nairobi as unsafe. Domestic flights had earlier been suspended in Uganda due to a shortage of jet fuel but that may be easing off now. A source @ JKIA NAIROBI told me most intercontinental inbound flights are quite light in load factor. Will keep u posted if I hear more
