Hello,
Qatar Airways has released details of its new Asian destination i.e. CAN-Guangzhou, China which will be served by an A 332 nonstop from DOH 5 times a week on MON / TUES / THU / FRI / SUN.
Flights begin on March 31st and can be booked on major GDS systems.
Timings are as follows :
QR 874 Dep DOH 0100 Arr CAN 1405
QR 877 Dep CAN 2040 Arr DOH 0110+1
This will make QR the first Middle Eastern Airline to offer nonstop flights from its hub airport to CAN which should be a good route for them especially with cargo yields.

Quoting B742 (Reply 1): This is the third Chinese destination after PEK and PVG.
Actually, it would be their fourth Chinese destination. They serve HKG as well.

A very smart move by QR; the Guangdong region, of which Guangzhou is the major city, is a major manufacturing centre and of increasing economic importance; at the very least, QR will do very well on air cargo.

Quoting B742 (Reply 1): Good to have CAN announced. Certainly will push the European carriers, AF and LH in mind.
This is the third Chinese destination after PEK and PVG.
A smart move. It does give them a leg up. One way to boost RASM is frequency (to a point), the other is to offer a route service no one else can!
Quoting Kaitak (Reply 4): Hope to see more QR route announcements soon!
Yes!
Quoting QatarA340 (Reply 2): Wow, excellent news! Seems like QR is becoming a two-class airline!
Each airline needs to know its strengths. Trying to be everything to everyone generally results in a poor business strategy. As much as I like reading about Singapore airline's 'staterooms' and other airlines trying to compete, I am not in that market and I tend to fly the airlines that cater towards my market. An airline that focuses and delivers an excellent J/Y class products strikes me as a better long term prospect.
