Hello everybody. According to a recent article that appeared in the Empresas section of the Invertia financial news portal ( http://mx.invertia.com ), ALMA will begin GDL-LAS flights in February. According to this article, ALMA is possibly going to launch GDL-SAT flights a few months afterwards.

I tried to resuscitate Juventus' post on ALMA and Viva Aerobus Alma ( De Mexico) May Add Up To 15 CRJs By 2008 (by Juventus Dec 4 2007 in Civil Aviation) but it has been archived already.

Does anybody have more info on this proposed new route? I tried to log on to ALMA's site but it was not working properly. I wonder how large their fleet is by now (all-Canadair, right?), and whether ALMA will need more planes for these two new routes.

Thank you and happy New Year!

Coming soon: MEX-MFE (VW CR2), IAH-PHL-CDG (US E90 and A333), ORY-EWR (OpenSkies 752), EWR-MEX (UA 73W)!!!

Thanks for the news Eddie. This little airline could be something in a few years. Hopefully they'll add LAS and SAT, and those 15 CRJs are added to the fleet. I must admit I didn't think much of them at first. Best of luck to them

saludos

Thanks for the info, its great news that their expanding; its too bad they haven't considered anything to SoCal, like ONT or LAX though, maybe one of those will follow next. Either way its great news  Smile

Quoting JRDC930 (Reply 2):

I think ALMA considered SoCal before any other region, but the pickings keep getting smaller between Souhtern Cal and Mexico. Not much room left, but eventually they'll end up there.

I wish they would consider Tucson for a few weekly flights to GDL. Currently there is one AreroMexico Connect prop flight to Hermosillo.
