Time 2302 Zulu at 4,300 Feet. Aircraft Type Cessna 206 Turbulence: Extreme Remarks: Windshear at 4,300

Looks like a small plane got chucked around REALLY bad. I saw a PIREP once for a B737 same, but with the addition of vertical altitude changes in thousands of feet....

It's the crap that hit SFO two days ago moving east. We got some moderate rain yesterday. I haven't heard any severe weather warnings from PHX.

Felt like you needed to show off your knowledge?! Just kidding. Although I am familiar with them, they're certainly not the easiest things to get the grasp off initially.

I'm just guessing that thunderstorms or CB clouds were involved in that one.

Try mountain wave.

 checkmark

First time I saw an "extreme" PIREP it was for a mountain wave. A Beech 99 departed BTV heading southeast for Boston and got into an uncontrolled ascent over Lincoln Ridge, a part of the Green Mountains that glider pilots out of Warren-Sugarbush (0B7) like to ride.
