Funny you should ask, was just looking at the MD11 flights on flightaware.com....KLM 642 from JFK to AMS and KLM 672 YUL to AMS are both MD11 flights

Sometimes they go to Canada as (YUL, sometimes YYZ and YVR). Other than those listed above they don't usually do other flights besides the obvious substitutions.
I'll take 100 litres a side AVGAS with Prist - C172 pilot

EWR and SFO just finished last week, although EWR will be back for a couple of weeks in March. Next summer, YVR and DEL will be back as well as PTY as a new destination.
Flew on KL672 YUL-AMS and KL671 AMS-YUL last September. I was fortunate enough to get upgraded to business class on the AMS-YUL run, and even more fortunate to be in the cockpit for the last 30 minutes of the same flight (including during approach, touchdown and taxi to the gate). What a smooth touchdown right on the centerline of 24R in YUL. Awesome aircraft! The crew was amazing! Will never forget it !

You may like to know that KLM has begun fitting the M11 with PTV's in Y; so the plane is there to stay for a couple of years for sure.
After TAM will withdraw the M11 sometime this year and those frames will be converted to freighters I think AY and KL will be the only legacies that fly the M11. AY is planning to replace the M11 with A333, so in 5 years or so KLM might be the only M11 pax operator left.

The last MD-11 I've seen was a KLM in SFO (granted that was over a year ago...)

Quoting Burkhard (Reply 12): What about Lima, Peru? Was an MD11 via Aruba or Curacao some time ago.
Switched to non-stop 772 and became a huge success afterwards. AMS-LIM in season sees one of the highest load factors in the KLM 777 network.

The pilots confirmed this while i was in their office !! They said the MD11 was there to stay at least for another 4 to 5 years.

Why has KLM stuck with the MD-11 for so long when others have phased it out? Did they get theirs later?? Do have so many that they can't phase them out without a replacement?

Just love flying

27 Seabosdca: Must have been a substituted 777 or A332. Seriously, the MD-11 approach speeds are hard to believe...
28 Viscount724: According to Boeing, the MD-11 approach speed is basically identical to the 747-400 (and 747-8).
29 YULWinterSkies: YUL gets it frequently. Many other carriers fly widebodies from Europe into CAI. I can think of AF or BA, I'd bet LH does it too. I can see high deman
30 WesternA318: A300's have been seen in CAI. Ahh, I remember when TWA used to send in 747's though...

45 MD11junkie: What about Delta Air Lines? Didn't they operate all of the Douglas airplanes?
