Quoting Venezuela747 (Thread starter): Hey guys I saw this pic of a 767 in CCS. I was wondering if this was a one time occurrence or if AA is really considering starting to schedule a 767 into CCS. I am assuming it was coming from MIA.
As far I know it is a scheduled flight from MIA. I've seen an AA 767 overflying CUR several times coming from MIA and heading to CCS. So I guess AA now uses the 767 from MIA to CCS on scheduled basis just like MIA-POS. AA also uses the 767 to AUA from JFK.

What you saw is probably a substitution of equipment. The 763 is often used to fill in instead of a 757 that had a mechanical. CCS is not the only market. Out of MIA, in the early morning there are plenty of 767s around that sit idle between South America trips and late PM departures to LAX, Europe and South America...those planes are used as a spare in case there is a need to swap an aircraft to prevent cancelling a day roundtrip. AA does not schedule 767s to CCS on a regular basis. CCS is also used as a diversion in case of a medical emergency like other cities as well.
