Compared to the AF-AZ discussions that keep lasting for months it would be a refreshingly short decision period.
What are the odds that UA will be the chosen one-since that decision obviously would furthermore weaken AF (their sharprice has plunged 40% in 6 months..),since a Delta-United merger would be most likely mean a withdrawl of Delta from SKY..

Very interesting stuff on the merger. Makes it sound very feasible to merge any two of legacies together!! hehe

AF-KL wouldn't take that lightly. They have a very strong relationship with DL.

And UA could argue that they have a stronger one with LH and I suspect when push comes to shove and other factors, *A would be the winnner, but anyway IMHO, DL will go with with NW and UA with CO.

UA and LH do not have a joint venture/profit sharing agreement like DL/AF do. The DL/AF relationship is clearly stronger at this point. That doesn't mean it will affect any decisions, just that the DL/AF relationship is more evolved and inter-twined at this point in time.

I suppose they'd cosy up even more with NW and get closer with CO!!

Do they really have a stronger relationship than the DL/NW/NW/KL relationship. I always perceived the Syteam integration among those 4 to be the strongest!

Anyways I wish DL luck with their little shopping spree. They've been very aggressive in the past 2 years and have been successful! Great corporate culture (better than some others), good service, lots of international expansion and some fleet expansion! Now a network/ company expansion! Good Job

So your telling me that the JOINT revenues that UA and LH have shared over the Atlantic are not a Joint venture...right???

My understanding is that the UA/LH is not a profit sharing joint venture. There is a difference. I could be wrong, but someone would need to provide some proof. Revenue sharing is not quite the same thing as profit sharing. In addition, the DL/AF agreement is modeled after the NW/KL agreement which has much deeper levels of integration than most arrangements.
