Why No ARJ Orders In America?

I understand that this is a foreign company developing it in China. It says that it is a Regional Jet, why aren't there any airlines outside of China ordering it. It seems like it would fit some fleets very well. Maybe the airlines are afraid the paint they use will have toxic amounts of lead in it!  Big grin

Almost everything any of us use is made in China. My shiny Macbook Pro I'm typing on, for example.

My guess is they would wait until the thing flies and is certified. Most companies simply wouldn't take a risk with a new company like that, regardless if they are in China, Romania, or Cleveland, OH.
