Southwest Diverted (?)

I was just checking departures out of LAX and I noticed that WN 3493 had been diverted. I followed up on Flightview.com and it shows that the flight was out of Sacramento and destined to LAX, but was diverted to STL. Is this a glitch in the system where the same flight went SNF-LAX-STL or was this flight really diverted. If it was diverted, why to STL?!

SWA3493 operated normally SMF-LAX and is currently in the air LAX-STL with a STL ETA of 0540Z.

I'd say Flightaware.com has some phantom electrons running around tonight...
