Wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the status of NW's plans for a newly-branded (or whatever the deal was) regional airline? I've not heard anything about it for a long time now, and for all I know it's already flying. Wonder what implications, if any, the entity might have in an M&A situation (ie - absorbtion of Comair?)

Thanks for any thoughts -

If your talking about Compass, they've been flying around for awhile now, using Embraer 175s in a 76 seat dual class configuration. They aquired the operating certificate from Independance Air after they went bust.

Compass Airlines is a wholy-owned subsidiary by NW. They are operating 76 seat, 2-class E-175's as Northwest Airlink. Currently 10 aircraft have been delivered, with confirmed orders for a total of 36 to be delivered by late 2008. Currently receiving 2 a/c a month.

Revenue flying began in August 2007. Currently aircraft & crews are MSP-based, but DTW & MEM are now currently seeing 175's on select routes. Crew bases in DTW & MEM will open up in ~April 2008.
