I have been advised that SA are to sell Boeing 743 ZS-SAJ "Ndizani" for scrap. Reason I know is that I put a proposal to SA to purchase the fuselage for conversion into a guest lodge similar to the Jumbo Lodge (just a bit more up-market than Jumbo) and was told that the a/c was to go out on tender to be sold off in 3 parts: Interior fixtures & fittings, undercarriage and stripped fuselage (Engines have already been removed). Apparently tender notices will appear in the local Sunday press within a couple of weeks.
Can anyone give me some idea of what a stripped down 743 fuselage would be worth? I am very keen to put in a bid as i would very much like to preserve 1) the incredible paint job and 2) a liitle bit of both SA's and our country's heritage.
Any info would be appreciated.

I agree that Ndzani was one of the best liveries ever to grace an aircraft. I´ve seen her at FRA several times and once at Jo´burg. Its sad that she will be dismantled, but actually I expected that. She´s stored since 3 or 4 years and one of the oldest 743s, and aircraft type not in hot demand anymore.
Sad only that they don´t fly here to Rand to meet her sisterships for second life at the museum. Probably its too expensive to maintain her gorgeous paint for a longer time.
