I know KF has been very aggressive to start a BLR-SFO nonstop in Aug. But this article stating that the first flight would be on Aug 27th is news to me. Is this a done deal? I would be surprised if they were able to schedule it into SFO while 9W is still working on its time slot for a proposed March date.

"On August 27, Kingfisher Airlines will launch a non-stop service from Bangalore to San Francisco. It will likely introduce non-stop flights from Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi to New York as well as a Chennai-San Francisco service by September or October."

I would hope that they have their act together on launching these flights given their financial commitment (tons of Airbus wide bodies) and their stated goal that BLR-SFO would be their initial (or one of the initial) route.

So while BLR-SFO would be a great route, who do we think will operate it? Both Kingfisher and Air India seem interested. Who will actually fly it or is this just talk?

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

IT will fly this route. They will not be able to start it until Aug 08' so AI has the opportunity to start it before IT. Look for 9W to start service within the next two months.
