I thought this might be of interest to some of you:
According to an Article in the German news source Spiegel Online, a travel agency from Erfurt is planning to offer flights to the Baltic Sea resort town Usedom for naked passengers, beginning July 5. They are targeting former GDR residents who feel nostalgic about the country's tradition of nudist beach vacations. According to the article, the passengers of those flights board the plane with their clothes and take them off when they're on board. However, for safety reasons, the crew will not be nude.
The operator also states that he might add additional destinations if there's demand.
Have fun discussing... (somebody post a trip report? )
Soren

Not to be too rude, but how are they going to prevent "skid marks" on the airplane seats?

When I saw the thread title, I thought we had reached the logical conclusion with the TSA a lot sooner than expected.
It certainly raises the stakes in the "who's the center seat passenger" lottery we all play....

Well, I think in the ideal world, one should be hygenic enough not to leave skid marks, but in the real world, they'll probably use plastic. Oh my fond memories of the FKK spaces in Germany!

I believe two years ago some American charter operator did this from the US to CUN. Apparently the flights were a success. I don't recall anymore details, but they were featured in the Mexican press.

that's the part people don't think about. most of the people are ugly. it's not like the movies where nudist colonies are full of hot 20-25 year olds playing volleyball. it's ugly 50 year olds with saggy parts. playing volleyball...

absolutely right
it's exactly the same when they organise naked "parties" in Amsterdam: most people are above 50 and take this opportunity to realise fantasies

What about when the plane has to be evacuated? Someone stated in another thread that it can be painfull if you are wearing short trousers. If this is true so what about in this case? All persons evacuated will look like these apes with the red ... I can already see the headlines "All passengers were evacuated successfully. But all were sent to hospital due to serious burns at their ..."

First of all thought it funny that Birdwatching started the post.
This does get your imagination going, i immediately DID think of 18-25 year old sweet ladies playing volleyball (on a plane??). The IFE better not show adult entertainment or evacuating procedures are bound to end up in a mess.
Further more, exiting the aircraft might me quite tricky too...

I think any minor with the qualifications to become a (armchair) ceo of an airline can see the occasional boobie!
