In March, I will be spending a week in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. (Yeah, I know, it sounds awful...  liar  )

On my return, I am scheduled to fly from PLS to FLL on NK, and then connect to PHX via US.

Will I go through US Customs before departing PLS, or will I have to do so in FLL? If in PLS, will I be able to check my bags through to PHX or does Spirit not offer that as an option?

(I also hope to add a few photos to the database from PLS. There's not much to choose from right now!)

Hopefully you have allocated alot of time. 4:50 is a busy time at customs. Remember, you will then have to leave terminal 4 and walk outside curbside to the end of terminal 3 to check in to your US flight.

Just a tip: Run to customs when you get off the plane depending on how much time you have. Customs at FLL is horrendous. Worse than MIA. I don't know if Spirit will transfer your bags but many low cost carriers won't so make sure to check on that.

First off there is no interline baggage arrangements with Spirit....and expect to pay to check your bags with Spirit as well. As another poster has noted....that arrival time is a busy time in that customs area....I have personally seen pax not make 90min connects...and if Spirit is late they will not assist in rebooking you as they have no agreements with any other carrier. You will have to carry your bags from Terminal 4 where Customs is to Terminal 3 where USAir is and have new tags issued....about 200 yards...smart carts are avail for purchase. USAir does have at least a 30min cutoff for checkin.

Looks like you are doing a 1535 arrival to a 1705 departure......if both sides are ontime.....and you will have to go thru Concourse E security again to board....since this is a Saturday deal there is always very heavy traffic from cruise ship pax.
