Yes, I DO realize my username is United747-200. But, I stumbled upon a great site FILLED with people's comments and stories about their awful experiences on UA. The reason I found the site was because I was going to www.united.com to send a letter about a bad flight I had recently. I was so mad and typing so fast, I accidentaly type www.UNTIED.com...that's UNTIED not UNITED! I just spent the morning reading the stories, and some of them are very odd! One man wrote of a person who DIED on the ground and while the crew tried to perform CPR, they were banging his head all over the place and then just carried him off the plane uncovered! Go to this site! The reason I am posting this is so that more people will post comments on their site and maybe, just maybe, get United's attention. So go! Post your horror stories!

This site has gotten much attention after being featured on numerous news broadcasts. I've gone through a few, but most of the complaints were nothing extraordinary. They are stuff that happen on any other airline- even your favorite airline on a regular, daily basis. It's too bad some inexperienced flyers who are looking to fly UA will be turned off thinking that it's only United that is plagued with these problems.

people need to get a grip! They should realize that they are paying rock bottom prices and shouldn't expect First Class service for $99 fares....

I respect your point, many other airlines DO have many inperfections, but since I live in Denver, the center of most United troubles, we are effected more by these problems. I am a loyal UAL costumer, but that doesn't mean their service is good! Some of the people, contrary to what you said about $99 tickets, paid several times that! One man got mis-informed about prices of tickets by an agent and DID expect first class service! He paid, I think, around $1,180 for a ticket he thought was First Class, but when he arrived at the airport, the gate attendant told him that that fair was for coach! So this is almost exactly opposite to what you said. But, I stress my point, your oppinion is excellent. Other airlines can have terrible service too!

Nothing special, go to, say, epinions.com and see how the people complain about their camcorder making "grainy picture" in low light condition (why the hell do you expect it to be the same in normal and low light condition? Say thanks for it makes any picture at all when your eye sees almost nothing!). It is exactly the same for airline. Of course, there are plenty of real problems, but they are far from being so awful and persistent to call United "untied", and so on.

I make a transatlantic trip with them every year... my next flight a wonderful bargain; Amsterdam-Fresno / Ft Lauderdale-Amsterdam roundtrip for ab. $220, in late February. I enjoyed every flight with United; they have better and more relaxed service than most other airlines, more meals on shorter flights compared to American and Continental especially.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

I too read that story about the man who had thought he had payed 1100 for a first class ticket, and ended up with a coach ticket. If you read the story carefully you will realise that this was a ticket being bought something like..... 36 hours in advance and the airlines make killings off of business passengers in situations like this, and the writer of the complaint even stated he EXPECTED to pay this much for a coach fare, and the fact that he thought he was in FC was only because the ticket agent made a small error. That kind of stuff happens. All airlines operating hundreds of flights every single day are going to have some sitations that are kind of ugly, but its the same with all businesses. Though I would recommend the site... some of the complaints are kind of amusing.
