As you all know, and was confirmed, Air France is now using the B 777-200ER instead of the B 747-400 Combi for the Hong Kong, Paris route.

Will the B 747-400 be used again? I would like to be on a B 747-400 instead.

Any idea on this?

Why does Air France use the B747-400C instead of the B777-200ER? Just because of the 'Combi'? As we had discussesed here before, the 777 can hold for more passengers than the 747, I think the revenue from the passengers are higher than the one from cargo, and the cost are cheaper for operating the 777 compare with the 747.

One reason may be that currently AF is converting all of its 747-400Ms into full pax configuration. Also, the 747-400s may be needed elsewhere.
