Just saw it on the LH website, they are launching flights to Malabo taking over the route from LX.

The article isn't clear about the LH/LX offer to west Africa, so I have these questions to all you pros out there:

LH: Frankfurt-Lagos-Accra will it remain a daily A333?

LH: Now LH will be flying Frankfurt-Malabo-Abuja 3-times weekly with A333? Isn't that backtracking from Malabo to Abuja?

LH: What is happening to Port Harcourt? I thought they flew to Abuja through Port Harcourt? Did they suspend the service?

LX: Can someone list LX's flights to Africa as of this summer... with frequency and aircraft?

AFAIK, PHC was closed as there was work being done on the runway (resurface or extension) so both LH and AF cancelled their flights. Not sure if that was just an excuse though.

PHC has re-opened but only for daylight domestic ops IIRC

LH will fly FRA - SSG - ABV and vv on days 2, 4, and 6 using A333
LOS - ACC will stay daily using A343
LX will fly DLA - NSY three times weekly using 332, don't know the operating day, could image the same as before into SSG

Concerning AF, this is/was not an excuse as PHC is a lucrative market.

AF is already flying 6 x Weekly nonstop on CDG-SSG-CDG.

I really do not understand that the take over the route from LH, a 3 + 3 combination would be ideal .... remember there is AF with nearly daily flights ... so much more interesting for business travelers....

Interesting, very interesting...

LH will substitute LX flights from ZRH and we will see another Star Alliance airline operating from Europe to Equatorial Guinea after Spanair twice weekly flights operated with 321 in parternship with Ecuatoguineana de Aviacion.

Gerard

LH will be the only one using F-Class and Widebody, AF and IB use C/M-class A320s.

Not exactely.
IB , indeed, uses a C/M class product, but AF offers a real J/Y class product on board the A319LR.
