Connection Time In ATH

Hello everybody!

Please excuse me for abusing a.net for a shamelessly selfish thread. Here is my story: I just booked a longer flight. One of my connections is in ATH with a connection time of 45 minutes. Routing: HER-ATH-MUC. Inbound: Aegean Airlines 660, arrival 7:50am, outbound: Lufthansa 5917, departure 8:35am.

Assuming that boarding starts 30 minutes before departure, this leaves me 15 minutes to deplane, clear passport control and possibly security, and get to my departure gate (possibly in another terminal).

Can this be realistic at all?

This is the first connection of a trip composed of 4 legs, including one transatlantic leg. I'd hate to be stranded there early in the morning with a 26-hour trip ahead of me and having to renegotiate three flights with an airline agent.

Thanks a lot!

Am I cured? Slept 5 hours on last long-haul flight...

It is a very tight connection. The points in your favor :
- there is no passport control, just security
- the A3 and LH flights both use the Schengen departures gates

BUT you are at the mercy of the smallest delay for the flight coming from Crete.

Personally, I would absolutely not take the risk.

Well I had 50 minutes to get from terminal 2b to terminal 2e at CDG after arriving from SFO, and 45 minutes on the way back. If it worked at CDG, it should work at ATH!

Well, I've had delays on both A3 and OA, coming back from the islands to ATH, so that's why I would not do it. In addition, I don't know whether A3 can now issue LH boarding passes in HER. I suppose you already had your onward boarding pass when connecting from 2B to 2E at CDG ?

Its 50/50 . I have landed and been out of passport control and onto a bus in arrivals within 10 mins of landing. Other times I have missed it. You just cant tell.
