I know this has been discussed a lot but there doesn't seem to be anything happening to the AN-NZ Group in renewing the fleet? Rumours has it that Ansett is going to acquire 744s (presumeably from SIA) for flights to LAX and NRT and "possibly" LHR (personally I think that will not happen in the near future, although it would be fantastic if it was true.)...
And this AN-NZ Group changing it's name thingy... what's going on with them? Anyone can tell me??
It would be great if:
747-400s for LAX, Europe
777-200/300s for Japan, HKG major asian routes
***A340-300s for AUS-S African services (No Star Alliance airline operates this route leaving it all to SA and QF!!)
A330-200s for TPE, KUL, SEL minor asian routes and trunk domestic routes.
A321/320-200 for Indonesia, Fiji and trunk domestic routes.
CRJ-400/300/200 for Aus Regional Routes.
Retire 767-200/300s and 737-300s
777-200/300s for Japan, HKG, SIN major asian routes
***A340-300s for S. American services (No Star Alliance airline operates direct services from AUS/NZ to S America, leaving it all to AR and QF!!!)
A330-200s for TPE, BKK, and trans Tasman services
A321/A320-200s for Pacific routes (PPT, NAN etc) and trunk domestic routes
DH8-400/300/200Qs for NZ Regional services
Retire 737-200s (although the aircraft is full of history and memories)
The above mentioned A321/320s can be subsituted with 737NGs

I don't think SIA have enough aircraft at the moment perhaps they could purchase the 4 BA 744's they are going to sell,lease for a good price. I think they will get boeing jets so 772,773,744,747X Stretch and 737NG.
Europe has not been fianalized yet for AN although I think they will fly there. England is in Europe so Air NZ will continue to serve Europe from LHR. I have not heard anything about Air NZ serving South America but I do think they should start flights to Argentina or Brazil.
The name change will most likely not apear on the aircraft as it is a corporate thing and whats this about changing there livery.

Air New Zealand ARE retiring the 737-200's, I think ZK-NQC will be the last to go, at the end of this year, or the beginning of next... Several are in CCH right now, being prepared for delivery to some Mexican carrier.
