hey all

I booked a flight and reserved a seat on Air berlin from Dusseldorf to Nice last sunday.

The seat map was for a 737 (3-3 layout).

however when I got to self checkin I found out it was 2-3 layout and when I got on the plane it was in fact a Fokker 100

Which I was VERY excited about - GREAT aircraft  Smile and amazing leg room.... even though I was at bulkhead the rest was great.

So my question is - how often does air berlin use the F100 on this route? Other routes?

Was it a substitution at last minute?

Thanks in advance

Air Berlin flies the Fokker 100 equipment on the DUS-NCE route only on friday (as scheduled); in the MUC-NCE route flies this equipment on Saturday.

AB is notorious for switching around capacity all over their system, if you book a few weeks in advance it actually quite common to have an equipment change by the time you actually get onto the airplane.

Aren't the Fokker 100 the leftovers from Germania Express later dba? I remember they used to fly FKB-TXL. Wonder how long Air Berlin can keep this zoo of planes: Airbus, Boeing, Fokker.

Cool

Well this happened to be on a Sunday so I guess it was an aircraft swap. So nice for me

I was VERY impressed about Air Berlin's offering - free soft drinks, tea coffee AND a sandwich. And for a so called low cost airline. It's more than some full service airlines offer on domestic runs in the US!
