Just checked my schedule and they are subbing a 767-400 for my 757-300 trip to MSY and back from IAH on Saturday, the 9th. Not a regular visiter to MSY. Thought you guys might be interested. Don't judge my landing as I fly the 757 a lot more than that big thing!!!

This ought to be interesting.....

I'm a little surprised the 400 is in the same bid packet as the 75's and -200s.

CO uses 757 and 767 pilots completely interchangeably

Yep, it is. The bid is 757/767 and we fly both the 757-200, 757-300, and both versions of the 767. Flew the -400 a good bit in November so this should be a non issue. Don't even know which leg I will fly so it could be the other guys landing in MSY and my takeoff. Always fun to do a domestic trip in the -400 though. It performs so well when light. Loads will be full as far as passangers go but we will probably only carry around 25-30K in fuel. Fun to see the passangers reaction when they board and see that it is a widebody for the 40 minute flight. Not even enough time to really see an episode of CSI!!!

IAHERJ, thanks for the heads up..if I was in town, I would be out there with bells on!

I've seen the 764 swap for a 753 probably about six or seven times over the past few years....762 also every now and again....and it's always a great sight.

Enjoy your brief visit to Concourse D!

Next trip: MSY-SEA-GEG-SEA-LWS-BOI-PDX-SEA-LAS on AS

Sounds like a nightmare. I bitched about having to learn 3 sets of numbers when I was flying the Dash. No thanks on 4.

Not a "headache" at all. I"ll explain why if you are actually interested. It is actually fun to go back and fourth between the 4. With all the support we receive from the training department as well as our load planners and dispatch; it is a non event. A quick printout in the cockpit from load planning before pushback takes care of all our performance numbers for the given flight. The numbers will be noticeable different when one leg is in a 767-400 and the next is in a 757-200 but nonetheless, they are there in front of you right next to the max limitating #'s each leg. The actual flying differences take some time to "master". Everyone has their favorite plane. Mine is the 757-300. I fly it the most.
Trust me when I say that the transition in and out of the 4 types is not an issue to most.

IAHERJ
