This is interesting. MLE certainly has a high yield dimension as a market. Does anyone know whether an all business configuration would require an intermediate stop on a FCO or MXP-MLE routing? It is circa 4000nm on a great circle routing. Otherwise I guess a stop in DXB wouldn't be the worst thing in the world - there is probably high yield MLE-DXB traffic also.

Crossair, the former Swiss regional carrier on which the current LX was built after Swissair went bankrupt, used to operate their MD-83s on occasional longhaul upscale charter tour packages to points in Asia, Africa etc. They normally used a 4-abreast all-business class layout on those flights. The aircraft stayed with the group for the entire trip.
