Hello all

I'm flying to Los Angeles LAX on AC early in the morning and take the afternoon flight on United express/skywest flight to El Centro IPL in early April 11, 2008 for at least one week. I need to know which of the two terminals am I going to in LAX, either Terminal 7 or Terminal 8? my connection time is good cause I have at least 3.5hrs.. I think my flight arrives in T2 approx 11:00am and depart at 2:30pm.. I'll be flying on standby to LAX so it will be B767-200...

Howdy:

I believe UAX uses Terminal 8 at LAX. If I remember correctly, T7 is mainline stuff, T8 is express stuff for UA. Could be wrong...often am  Wink

Terminal 7 or Terminal 8?

It should be 8 if but if for some odd reason its not; Terminal 7 and 8 (and I think 6) are connected past security so there is no issue with picking the wrong one and having to re-clear security if thats what you were worried about.

All United Express flights will board from T8.T6-T8 are all connected inside security. From T6, you'd go towards the exit, but then take a right which takes you to the walkway to T7/T8. There is also a cart guy stationed there.

Very cool info. thank you all  Smile this will be my first time flying on United Express and 2nd time flying on a smaller jet or turboprop. I flew on Jazz last June on Dash 8 and it was a very interesting experience. Very fast and short on take off too. According to enroute magazine it shows Dash 8 maximum ceiling climb is 15,000 ft but we were cruising to max of 28,000 ft.. am I missing something here?

United Express/SkyWest Airlines operates out of T7 and T8.

Terminal 8:
Gate 80/81-84 all CRJ's and CR7's except 80
Gate 85, 86AB, 87, 88AB EMB's only

Terminal 7:
Gate 70A

Check-in is in lobby of terminal 6 and 7

Ok thank you again  Smile.. by the way I'll be crossing the border to Mexico because Im visiting some of my friends in Mexicali and they will be picking me up at the airport. Its cheaper for me to do this routing since my dad will be paying for my YYZ-LAX portion as my b'day present and I'll be paying for LAX-IPL which is roughly 245.00USD with tax.

The magazine is wrong. The Dash-8s crusing altitude is 25000ft, this is for all models.

The EMB-120 is a fun, powerful turboprop. Its noisy on takeoff though. I reccomend the "A" side seats. Those are single seats with no-one next to you.

I like the A side as well, and also recommend going towards the back as there is less noise and vibration as opposed to near the front where you're right in line with the props. 9B/C are actually the best seats on the plane, it's the rear exit row and there's a ton of legroom... though you have to hold your drink on your lap. Only on that side though; 9A has the normal amount of legroom.

Nice I don't care if I sit upfront or the back or the middle, its the flying I enjoy the most. I love the sound of engines or propellers..I hope I get the A seat since I'll be traveling alone. Smile The weirdest thing about this flight is going to El Centro I have to stop at one location before I arrive into El Centro.. flight duration says about 1hr and 55min but coming back its a nonstop flight.

You'll stop at Yuma, AZ. UA usually routes one of their El Centro flights through Yuma to drop off passengers(occasionally to pick them up). There isn't enough demand to operate an El Centro-LAX flight alone, so they operate it through Yuma. Actual flying time will probably be about 1hr to Yuma, then about 10 minutes to El Centro(its only 58 miles), then about 45 minutes to LAX.

5740 Goes LAX-YUM-IMP-LAX

5780 Goes YUM-IMP-LAX

Guess your going to backtracking a little bit on the way to IMP.

Have a good trip!!
