What's up with the flowers on the wall? Are the real?

There all the time, or, is this for a special reason?

I think it is a nice and unexpected touch. Are other airlines doing something similar?

As you'll see the photo caption confirms the flowers are there for the festive season, which my New Zealand perspective interprets as Christmas. 9V-SRQ (cn 33371/449) Economy Class.....enroute HAN-SIN, It's the festive period, as seen by the Christmas decorations [Nikon D200]

From my own experience the flowers are fake

No the flowers aren't real. The flowers are Christmas/New Years decorations.

Very irresponsible in my opinion on the part of SQ. Everyone knows those flowers can be sprayed with widely available pheromones that will make the snakes homicidal.  scared

Well at least we can all take comfort in the fact that NW will never retire their DC-9s

and there is nothing more annoying that having you post-meal movie watching experience interupted by a homicidal snake in the cabin. It just puts such a dampener on things when passengers are screaming madly and jumping from seat to seat.

Nothing seems as good since the VC10.

SQ also places flowers in the F and J lavs all the time. To be honest, I can't remember about the Y lavs...

TG hands out Thai orchid to passengers as well as decorating the lav with them.

LH uses roses as part of the F meal set up.

I keep wondering, what do Customs think of the live Thai Orchids F passengers pretend to enter their country with?
