Hi,
Just afew questions about BD's A330-200s. I've been told most of the answers before, but I've got a reeeaaally bad memmory!:

1) Does anyone know how many seats each class will have (ie J will have 30 seats etc)?

2) Does anyone know the set delivery date of the 2nd A330 they'll have (not the one being leased by SAS)?

3) I'm guessing that Y will be 8 seats abrest (2-4-2) and that J will be 6 abrest (2-2-2), but what will "New Economy" (BD's premium economy class) be?

4) I'd heard that SAS were leasing the A330 untill they received their own; when will that be?

5) The 1st Manchester-Washington service will be on April the 30th, right? When do the Chicago flights commence?

6) Registrations?

7) Are all of the 4 A330s that have been ordered so far, due to be delivered this year?

8) Anyone wanna buy me a ticket?!

Cheers,
Jamie.

ps. I'm really starting to like the new colours (no...stop laughing)!
Although at first I hated them so much I actually e-mailed BD with my disgust, I now think they look very modern, proffesional and British! I can't wait to see them on the Fokker 100s, and ofcourse the A330s.

Now that I agree with- but it's sooo much better than just BMI (IMO).

Is Washinton theire only route at the moment? I have been looking at there fares on the net and they ain't cheap! And it's not like their isn't a lot of other airlines flying these routes. They will need to sort that out if they wanna stay in the air.

BD will be the ONLY airline flying between MAN and IAD.
On the MAN-ORD route they will be competing with AA.
Englandair, Check out BDs website, www.britishmidland.com or something like that. Im sure it says something there. I do remember though that Y seating will have about 33 inches of legroom.

Cheers Gkirk, but their website only gives seat info on legroom.

BA747-436, As GKirk said they'll be the only airline flying MAN-IAD, but I'd read (on a.net) that their Transatlantic fares were going to be quite resonable. How much did they quote you?

ok, BMI has got 4 four 332s on order, one is going on lease to SAS for their CPH-IAD service, and the two others will serve MAN-IAD and MAN-ORD.
do they have any further plans of introducing more flights from MAN to somewhere else in the states?
i don´t think they´ll collect all their 332s in MAN before they´ve got thinks working out at LHR.
anyone has a clue?

Hi,
Other US destinations that BD have applied (and been awarded?) to serve from MAN include Boston, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco and loads more that I can't remember right now.

They won't need 3/4 A330s to serve IAD & ORD from MAN (despite the UA codeshare), so I doubt they'll receive all of them untill they can fly LHR-USA or get more US destinations.

Ref the SAS lease: I will confirm with a very good contact, but I believe that its until Scando get settled with their own Airbus wide bodies... About a year if I remember correctly. As I say, I'll check.

The 4th bmi A330 is a way off - there's three initially, of which one goes to Scando in Star colors, and the other two are for the MAN-ORD and MAN-IAD service. I hope that they don't get a serious tech with only two aircraft!!!

Ref one of the other questions: The aircraft were allocated G-WWBD, G-WWBM and G-WWB? (can't remember the last and not at home to check).
