Was just told that United Express will begin seasonal service between DEN and TVC. This will be on the CR7 6 in first and 60 seats in Coach. Nice job TVC.

This is great news.... It's actually a route I thought might work for F9 from DEN. (I thought the same about GRR before UA added that one, too.)

What is the schedule?

Slightly OT- might just have been a rumor, but I heard somewhere F9 at one time had planned to start DEN-GRR, but UAL somehow learned of their plans and jumped in with UAX flights- beat them to the punch.

I have often wondered if UA would ever do a IAD-TVC for the summer only.

I would love it if they did.

UA has done DEN-GRR in the past (I flew it on a 727 back in 1980), but given the loads on such, a CRJ-7 should be plenty for DEN-TVC. Hope it works!

Seems like every year they get some token hub route ..one year it was DFW on AA, next ATL on DL and now DEN..I have noticed they dont return...is it the weight penalties they may have taken due to runway length??!!

The main runways there are 8,500 and 10,000 feet, and at an altitude of nearly 800 feet MSL with no terrain around the airport to hamper 2nd segment climb, any aircraft should be able to go its full range out of GRR.

This time of year I start checking the flight schedules for the summer just by hitting different dates from different, realistic cities. Earlier today, after seeing that TED is adding an A320 to KRAP, I plugged in IAD,DEN-TVC thinking I might see something... I didn't. Even checked the ORD-TVC schedules hoping to see a mainliner, nothing.

Another thing I do every couple of days is check the forums for TVC topics which I did just now and I came across this great news! Thanks B757capt!

ATL-TVC has been going for a couple of summers now.

It will be interesting to see if TVC gets any new/upgraded service for this year.

Interesting to note that the DL service will be from CVG this year and not ATL.

Probably because CVG flights are much more kind on the 6500' runway.

Its still early yet. Give it until mid-late March...

Then again, the merger "talks" might play a part in whether or not this route returns as well.

Just sending the news (factual) as I get it.

Also you should see the schedules loaded by Monday, I still have no idea what they are.

Thanks! If you could do some digging to see if UAL is planning any upgrades on the ORD-TVC route, that would be great. Still thinking of February 2001 when UAL had 2x 737's SAT/SUN in the system for a week or so but pulled them. Apparently they decided not to start service because they felt it was better to wait until the new terminal opened... Well its been open for a couple years now and no UA mainline yet.  Sad

Sure thing I will peek around.....One question for you. What large companies are in TVC? Or Are there any large events that occur there?

Runway 10/28 is 6501 x 150
Runway 18/36 is 5379 x 150

If a CRJ-200 has to take weight penalties for a flight from COS-MEM, its certainly going to take weight penalties from DEN-TVC. That would make it almost a 3hr long flight on a CRJ---- eww.

Is this weekends only or daily? I really cant imageine that there is that much demand from the western US to TVC. TVC is a midwest and east coast destination. I can see 6 and 7 service not daily

Both runways have enough room for a CR7...don't forget friends, them CR7's have slats!! I have seen the CR2, CR7, CR9, and DC-9 land and takeoff from the cross-wind runway in FAR, runway 9/27, which is 6300 x 100...and that was in the summer. The CR2 had a bit of a struggle, but still got off. The CR7 looked like it could get off the ground in about 4800'

3 hours on a CR7 is actually quite a comfortable ride...I usually sit in F...but hey still not a bad ride in Y.
