I've just returned from a trip to Kuala Lumpur (trip report) and have a couple of questions about things I saw. I apologise if they have already been answered elsewhere.

1) On 12 Feb sometime after 6pm local time I saw one of SIA's A380 taxiing along the runway at KUL. Why was it there?

2) Why is Jetstar's A332 VH-EBC painted white rather than silver?

Thanks for you answers!

VH-EBC used to be Qantas - if I remember right.

I wondered about that, but unlike the other (silver) Jetstar A332's that I have taken VH-EBC's interior looked entirely new using black armrests rather than reusing the blue QF domestic armrests.

This was to go back to QF mainline if the 787's were delivered when they were scheduled......it will obviously stay with JQ for a while longer.

Could be for crew training, SQ have done that before at KL.

I suspected that this might be the case. The other answer that some suggested to me offline was to do with the airshow in Singapore.

I believe it had something to do with the time it would take to repaint.

they are all due to go back to QF including the silver ones

All the Jetstar 332's have the same interior with brown leather seats (ie not the QF blue seats)

Wrong person quoted, but no worries. I've flown 4 Jetstar A332's in the past 6 months. The first three had dark grey leather seats but blue seat sides/armrests that looked like they came from QF domestic. In the first two cases they were actually somewhat broken, looking much older than the remainder of the interior. The armrests of VH-EBC were black/grey, looked newer, and matched the rest of the seat decor. Sadly I didn't take any photos of the armrests to demonstrate this.  Sad
