Hi,

I know it's a long way out at this stage, but does anyone out there possibly have any info surrounding the KLM's forth coming schedules. More specifically as to the likelyhood of them increasing services to AUA and CUR during Winter 08/09 and Summer 09?

Thanks in advance.

With the pending takeover of MP, look forward to a further reduction of dedicated KL-services to the Antilles. LIM has already become a nonstop flight, expect the same to happen to the UIO-GYE combi.

It will still be 10 abreast in Y, just more WBC seats and 2 rows Y less.

On a side note, did anyone here fly the KL 77W yet in Y? If so, how was the experience? Is the narrower seat noticeable vs the extra seat pitch?

30 Y seats will be removed.
This will allow KL to add 1 or even 2 rows of WBC, with 7 or 14 additional seats respectively.

The CUR-route is too lucrative for KL to pass it on to another airline. KL is not that stupid to reduce flights to CUR. SXM, AUA and BON maybe, but CUR? I don't see that happen.

KLM was talking about doing this last summer but nothing ever surfaced. They had planned to add a Northwest 757-200 flight to the current flights.

I'm curious to see if it ever does officially happen. KLM is always shifting their New York operations. This summer we will have 2xdaily flights with the 747-400/777-200 on KLM643/644 and the 747-400 on KLM641/642 with the 777-300ER operating on Tuesdays. Originally the 777-300ER was going to operate on KLM643/644 with the 747-400 and 777-200.

Correct, GRU upgraded to B77W. However, this could change given the possibility of KLM starting GIG nonstop.

JFK 3x daily 2x KL 332, 1x KL74M

The proposed third daily flight KL645/646, which was to leave AMS early in the morning will not operate. The aircraft will instead be used for a daily roundtrip to DTW.

Quoting PW100 (Reply 3):
YYZ 13x weekly 744/772 [one additional frequency]

All 13 frequencies to YYZ will operate with B772. For the winter, the route will return to a daily B744.

Quoting PW100 (Reply 3):
GUA upgrade to 77W

That should be GRU, and the upgrade to B77W, which is for 3 of the weekly flights, may be cancelled. AMS GRU is currently not performing very well, and the extra capacity may be deployed elsewhere in the network, while keeping GRU at a daily B772ER.

Quoting PW100 (Reply 3):
GIG/EZE New Service being rumoured in some form

That new service is indeed being looked at, but with the poor performance of the GRU operation right now, it looks as if KLM will invest additional capacity in the Asian route network instead.

Quoting PW100 (Reply 3):
KIX upgrade to 77W

The upgrade of AMS KIX to thrice weekly B77W and four weekly B772ER has been shelved in favor of a thrice weekly B77W service to MNL, following the withdrawal of LH from the Philippines.

Quoting PW100 (Reply 3):
PEK second daily [temp for Olympics?]

Additional frequencies are under consideration for the Olympics only, although most likely one should look for an upgrade to a full passenger B744 from the usual combi on the route.

Quoting PW100 (Reply 3):
PVG 12x weekly 74M [two additional frequencies]

The additional frequencies have already been operating since early January.

Quoting HUYfan (Reply 15):
Is there any expansion of the Gulf netowrk in the pipeline? Kuwait/Muscat and Dammam/Doha going daily? Upgrade of Abu Dhabi/Bahrain to the MD11? Dubai twice daily year round?

The only change for now will be the deployment of the MD11 on the AMS IKA route. DXB will reduce to 10 weekly as in the previous year.

Quoting LHboyatDTW (Reply 16):
so KL would be downgrading DTW to a 332 in the summer while giving us a 772 in the down season

The idea behind the B772ER in the winter season is that NW would at that point no longer be operating the B744 it will deploy for the winter.

Quoting AlitaliaMD11 (Reply 17):

The third daily AMS JFK flight has seen many scenarios, yet it has ultimately never operated.

From June onwards KL641/642 will actually be operated with B77W thrice weekly. Other frequencies with B744. The evening flight KL643/644 will see a B772ER thrice weekly, a B74E thrice weekly and a B744 once weekly. All of this is subject to change pending expected loads.

The combi is special because it is old and has no PTV I'm afraid, unlike the A330 and B777.
