Qantas International Flight # Changes

For example QF's Brisbane - Noumea - Brisbane service, QF99/90 will change to QF89/90 from OCT.

Always loved QF175 BNE-LAX (hence my username).

It appears Qantas is making the changes above to tidy things up, although there could be other valid reasons for the changes.

Is it possible that these flight number changes are connected to the upcoming new routes announcement, I.E. South America, North America.

Does anyone know any more?
