UAL's check-in kiosks apparently couldn't handle leap day. A number of news sites are reporting problems at various airports, including "chaos at LAX".

Aren't their kiosks more than 4 years old? Anyway, I can see chaos created at LAX, because it is probably United's hub that I have seen is most dependent on the kiosks.

Nothing Major, took a little longer to check in bags, more than usual late bags but our CS agents did a great job checking things in manually.

Yes, amazingly the over three hour kiosk outage delayed few, if any, flights and passengers made their flights on time. Seems that agents are quicker than the kiosks and were able to handle the added load. Too bad they cost more in benefits, use too much Family Leave and sick time, are grumpy, need health insurance and complain a lot. So, even though they are quicker, the kiosks seem to win out due to other reasons.
