On Monday, February 12, 2001 (1st birthday), jetBlue will announce their figures for 2000 and will announce their next destination.

Anyone have any ideas what their next destination will be?

I saw on the news here in Syracuse that JetBlue is starting service here to NYC in May. Apparently they're hoping that JetBlue's presence will convince AirTran or Southwest to start service here as well.

I hope that they can start flights from Toronto to Ft.Lauderdale. The charters in Toronto that fly to FLL will have some competition in fares. Jetblue sounds like a nice airline.

I definitely think these three cities will be on the jetBlue route map by year's end.

No such luck.  Sad

jetBlue is operating on a Domestic certificate. Maybe in the distant future they'll apply for their flag carrier certificate, but I doubt it.

I agree that SYR is probably going to be the next to be served. Neeleman is making the announcement with Sen. Schumer, so that should be a good indicator.

I doubt he'll announce a Lousiana destination with a NY Senator present!  Wink/being sarcastic

What happened to JAX? At this time two months ago, it seemed to be a favorite on this forum, and now people aren't even thinking it'll be introduced this year!

We need some discount carriers down here- WN can only expand so much!

YYZ-FLL has got to be one of the cheapest routes to US from Canada. I just saw one on expedia.ca for $217 WITH TAX. Tickets to Miami can be seen for as low as $119 without tax. I quite content with the level of competition to sun destinations from YYZ.

As for JetBlue serving YYZ or other destinations in Canada- like it was stated earlier, it won't happen for a long time. Even if they were allowed to serve Canadian destinations, I doubt they would want to absorb high costs of flying across the border. BTW, many Toronto residents drive to BUF to take advantage of cheaper fares- as I have done numerous times in the past.

Oh please San Diego!! I told my parents about jetBlue and they said if they could get fares like those they would definitely take the flight!!!

Of course with the recently announced second flight to Ontario JB may want refocus on NY this time and add Syracuse...

Continental got there first. So no IAH-JFK for JetBlue...

Okay... now that we've established SYR to be the next city, you've got to remember that they're planning on starting service to another 9 destinations this year and then another 10/year for the next two years after that.

If they don't get to your city this year, they're probably planning on starting service there sometime soon. JetBlue seems to be focusing on cities with extremely high airfare and some of these are hubs or focus cities.

With that in mind, I have a really good feeling that they're going to hit PIT or PHL sometime soon. I think that PIT has a better chance over PHL.

I hope that Jetblue will fly to SJU out of JFK. My hispanic friends are sick and tired of AA's high fares out of JFK as well as they long drive to EWR out of Queens for a better fare on CO. Since TWA will bite the dust soon I hope JB will pick up where TWA will leave off on the JFK-SJU route. Puerto Rico is a US commonwealth and Puerto Ricans have US passports so I'm sure even they can fly to SJU on their current flight certificate.

I think they might announce PHL later in the year. Why?

1) Except for a DL767, which was here previously, we have no service to JFK since December when Eagle and TWE pulled their flights.

2)CO had a SPECIAL of $245 to fly PHL-EWR. Can you say "monopoly?"
