S7 plans to retire their il86 fleet in the next couple of years, I believe. What aircraft will replace them? I know they have ordered plenty of A320 aircraft, but aren't these significantly lower in capacity?

Yes significantly lower. I will be sad to see the IL86s go, they are ideal for S7 high capacity charter flights to sunspots.
