In all of the 737 family development, all of the focus has been on the 73G and the 738. Next, the 739 is coming out. What happened to the 736?

The 737-600 is in service, as a replacment for the 737-500 in the Boeing product line. Orders have been underwhelming compared to the -700 and -800 series though.

A lot of airlines's 737-500s are quite young. Most are under 8 years old! Right now there is not that much of a need for it. I think that we will see orders of it start up as Delta replaces their Express fleet.

I have my thoughts about that plane and UA, but I wont post it because people will yell at me.

Actually, I really doubt UA would want to buy the 736. The reason is simple: their 733 and 735 fleets are very young and there's no pressing need to replace them yet.

AA could order the 736 as Fokker F100 replacements, but unless AA is willing to wait two years for first deliveries....  Smile

Gentlemen...
The 737-600 is still out there. Last time I checked, SAS is/was the biggest user, with 30 -600 in its fleet.
Good little plane. Wouldn't mind having a exec version if I ever win the lottery.  Wink/being sarcastic) Regards.

They're around, but not terribly many of them. Here are a couple I've seen.
