Hello,

I believe that the first SIA A380 service to LHR takes place on Tue. 18th Mar.

Can anyone please advise on what time it is expected to arrive?

Regards,

Trevor.

The first A380 flight will come in as the SQ308 at approx 1500. Then after this the A380 will revert to the normal schedule of operating the SQ322 in early morning and out at lunchtime as the SQ317.

SQ is flying 2 A380 flights on 18 MARCH.

SQ 308 at 0900/1505 (I will be on the flight) and SQ 322 at 2320/0555+1.

Then from LHR-SIN on 18MAR, SQ319 at 1855/1535+1, and the other A380 stays on till the 19MAR for SQ317 at 1100/0740.

But flights to/from LHR revert back to one daily flight only. So the other A380 stays on for publicity shots.

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

Hi Trevor

Try www.singaporeairlines.com they have all the info you need 1st flight on the 18th which lands at 15.05 and leaves at 18.55. There are not 2 flights on the 18th only 1 A380 is due. Which will be SQ308 Lands at 15.55 and leaves as SQ319 at 18.55

I think what is meant by 2 flights on the 18th is that there are 2 A380 flights that leave Singapore on the 18th but the 2nd doesn't get to Heathrow until early on the 19th.

I think what is happening is that 2 A380's will leave singapore on the 18th. See Below

SQ 308 at 0900/1505 (I will be on the flight) and SQ 322 at 2320/0555+1.

One leaves SIN at 0900, the other leaves at 2320.

Only one will be at LHR on the 18th, the other will land at 05.55 on the 19th.

SQ have 2 A380's scheduled to leave for LHR on the 18th.

EDIT:- the ginge beat me to it

How often can we expect to see the A380 in the short term at LHR after the 18th ?

...daily, for SQ, operating SQ 322 from 19th, departing as SQ 317.

That's it until EK begin their service in December...

The new tower has the perfect view. Although the conference room in the old tower has a good view but only if it lands on 27.

As you'll appreciate, it'll depend largely on the runway in use that day. Assuming the Westerly's prevail, 27L is a good bet, in which case the ever popular Myrtle Avenue - or anywhere near Hatten Cross for that matter - would be a good choice...

Again, we have to make assumptions on winds and runways, but fingers crossed it'll depart on 27L, in which case the new(ish) petrol station on the Southern Perimeter Road is great. It's a bit of a hike from TGM, but hopefully those with cars might do a few shuttle runs?  Wink
