Qantas A380 Deliveries?

I have been wondering about the QF A380 deliveries and I have herd a mix of that MSN014 will be the first A380 for QF and other sites have said MSN026 will be the first? Does anyone know which of them will get delivered first. Plus what stages are the QF A380s at?

This was the latest that I have from a few websites I have been scrounging info from, Having said that some of the info has been hersesay. However the most concrete info is that one will be delivered around the end of August with the first Scheduled MEL-LAX service tentative for Early October.

MSN014 F-WWSK - August Delivery
MSN015 F-WWSL - October Delivery
MSN022 F-WWSR - December Delivery
MSN026 F-WWSX - August 2008 (earlier delivery due to first aircraft that does not require rewiring)
MSN029 - still in construction - I would assume delivery 1st QTR next year.

I have seen EIS planned for September, however the details were vague, I would probably guess just crew training, route proving etc and then MEL-LAX in October. The weird thing is I'm hearing from engineering, the first route is LHR?

They are definitely training both SIN and LAX engineers concurrently.

Final delivery dates have not been set in concrete by airbus because the rewiring seems to be going better than originally expected so many aircraft involved may be delivered a little earlier than originally planned. Qantas ship 14 is a re wire job and due to be delivered in August this year. Ship 26 as we know is the first production aircraft with the new wiring but is also due about the same time in August. At this point in time it is still anyones guess as to which will be the first here but as a betting man I would say that MSN 014 will be first to arrive in SYD based solely on the fact that airbus is taking less time than planned to complete the re wire jobs.


I remember when the DC-3 was new!

After assembly, all aircraft are flown to Hamburg, XFW to be furnished and - most important - painted (not for re-wiring in case of MSN 014, this has been done in TLS, if I am informed correctly). In terms of painting the guys in Hamburg have to make an extra shift because MSN 014 had been transferred still wearing the old tail cls.

According to the wikipedia list XFW did the re-wiring of MSN 003 / 005 / 006 and 008 only. All the remaining airframes to until MSN 026 would be done in TLS. But I am not so sure if they sticked to that plan. I read some while ago that there were plans to bring more airframes to XFW to do the re-wiring there. Maybe this was the case for MSN 011, which arrived in XFW in September 2007 and will be delivered in July 2008. Almost one year only for furbishing and painting?
