I emailed US about their plans for PPE, and they responded with the usual corporate vagueness. They're waiting to measure demand and the airports infrastructure. I guess the good news is that they are watching. If demand is hot, US could put a 737 sized plane on the route. Thats the largest aircraft this runway will support.
Most likely we'll see RJ service to start.

If I am correct, they've had commercial service for a while now. Aeromexico Connect was operating a EMB145 from LAX and I think it then went to/from HMO or MRY. Flight operated three times a week, I think TUES/THURS/SUN and last time I checked fares from LAX were quite high. When I was checking was beginning of year cuz friends from L.A had seen small clips in the travel section and we planned a trip if I drove down from AZ and they flew in from L.A, but we couldn't find fares lower then the mid $300 range for a L.A r/t. More I searched and I found articles stating how first few weeks found flights running in the 80-90% range for the flight that went to their Mexican destination, and L.A. load factors were running about 50-60%, nothing said though how much of that was revenue vs. nonrev pax.
