I took this short video on board an AC 77W in January. It was the first time I've actually noticed seeing our own plane's contrails while in flight. I'm guessing that sitting way back in row 57 combined with the frigid temperatures at altitude that day had something to do with it. Anyway, enjoy.

Yes its quite a common sight, i am totally obsessed by contrails and i have noticed them on a number of my flights, especially on a UA 757 when i was int he last row, a Virgin 346 en route to DEL , and last month on a KLM 747 in the last few seats.
Contrails are always spectacular and i love them whether from the ground or from the plane your flying in. Great video.

I only saw the shadow of our contrail! Sun was ver low and the shadow was in front of us! I just said to the caprain: "Look, out contrail!" And he said: "oh right, I was asking myself what that weird black stripe there was!"
