Out of curiosity I wonder if those are destined for Iraqi Airways. The article said that the Iraqi Government ordered them, is Iraqi Airways a government owned airline? Also, what kind of routes would those run? I dont know of any civilian airfields in Iraq other than Baghdad International. I would assume Mosul and Kirkuk have civilian fields but Im not certain.

Yes, Iraqi Airways is government owned airline and those planes will probably go to them. If they keep their livery, I am absolutely sure that those planes will be the best looking CR9s ever  Smile

Funny how people wrote off the CRJ and Bombardier and yet it continues to sell a lot of planes.

This is the third order announcement this week for the CRJ.

Funny how people said that the negotiations were open to Boeing only, and yet the 736 wasn't forced down their throat.

I heard rumors of european carriers (BA, AF, LH) starting service to Basra a few years ago because Baghdad wasn't yet stable (and arguably still isn't); that may be another part of the domestic service as from what I understand it is a decently-sized port city. I am sure some are going to be utilized to Amman as well if there isn't extensive service there already.
