Any idea why this has never gone to 2x daily??

I take it every week or two, and it's always full in J, and often sold out in Y and if not sold out, usually pretty jammed

It was 2x daily for a short time. Started in April 2001 and lasted until around April 2002 or so. They then operated a second frequency during the winter, 3x a week, until around 2005. Air France has struggled to compete for premium passengers from Miami, who prefer Alitalia and Swiss.

I see...interesting.. They fly a 744, but the business cabin isn't huge, but is almost always sold out...I have taken the Swiss flight to ZRH a few times and it hasn't been that crowded

I guess when it goes to an A380 there will be an expansion of sorts...

Air France averages around 90% from MIA year-round, Swiss average around 87%. Swiss, though, finds little problems filling the business cabin with fare-paying passengers instead of upgrades. Swiss will be upgrading MIA to an A340-300 year-round, which also means 3-class service to Miami again, in July.

Don't expect to see an A380 on CDG-MIA, or at least not the first few years.

This route will become a 77W as soon as the new 2-class batch start arriving. It isn't beyond reality that this route will get additional frequencies though.
