Today, after negotiationg with INFRAERO (the state-run company that administrates most of Brazil's airports), AZ managed to get the check-in counters at GIG on the time frame they wanted.

Here's the full article (in portuguese only): http://www.panrotas.com.br/canais/re...l_reader_noticia.asp?cod_not=36314

It also states that according to AZ's director in Brazil, the italian airline will begin services with a 5x weekly frequency.

Please insert a "smart" joke here.

What's the point, because unless the Italian government (Berlusconi!) keeps his nose out and AF/KL can buy them out, they will be bankrupt and flying-no-more within a few months!

flying is the safest form of transport - until humans get involved!

AF figured out during their due-dilligence that the red was much redder than thought...
Meaning AZ is bancrupt already, since they applied last week for an exceptional 250M€ load from the government to span the gap between now and the official take-over..
Otherwise they are not capable to honour their bills any longer.
Berlusconi has a big mouth but no idea about the true situation of AZ.....

Please respect animals - don't eat them...
