I've just read at www.skyliner-aviation.de that VarigLog has returned to lessors or grounded several 757s, DC-10s and MD-11s, however is doesn't state the purpose of this action. Any more information regarding this?

They are on the same path as VARIG...going down, and down, and down....administration problem, conflict between share holders, financial problems etc....looks like Rambo series....we all saw VARIG I and not we are looking into VARIG II "the return"...

Or maybe this is another Jason movie...

Cheers.

Embajador, VarigLog is facing a fight between their shareholders. Volo do Brasil and MatlinPatterson are discussing on Courts and the airline is having problems with cash flow as some Banking Accounts and assets has been frozen by Judges.

New York + Rio de Janeiro = One of the best combinations !

Hi all:

On the thread of Arrow Cargo getting B757F´s i was told about them getting the ones being operated by Varig, but i guess it turns out to be true. How many B757F´s Varig are operating?
Any one in Brazil can shed somelight since i was told that the first A/c was getting painted already.

Regards

MatlinPatterson have just ordered A330F's, though I believe they would be mostly for WO. Rumours here are Kelowna Flightcraft are picking up a DC10 from Matlin for Purolator ops between YHM & YVR, but before WO are getting rid of theirs - this could be the source?? I didnt realise Matlin were also involved with VarigLOG.

I don't think you'll be seeing them coming to us anytime soon. If we added the 330 then we would have 4 fleet types which would be a nightmare. I think that Matlin Patterson will be dipping into the aircraft leasing business rather than shifting them to WO. We wouldn't mind the MD-11F's though. I am sure someone else will get those though.

Nice Trip Report!!! Great Pics, thanks for posting!!!! B747Forever

Are there any new developments regarding VariLog? Are they still flying at all or is everything parked? Who is taking up the slack? Has there been any new information on the destination of the planes which were taken out of service?

Thanks for any update!

One or two MD-11s seemed stored at Miami last week. Two 757s went to Cecil Field airport in Jacksonville (where if I remember right they where originally prepared)

Shame because I really dig the new VarigLog look. I'd rather see them around that the boring whitish Varig planes.
