MX announced a few weeks ago it is starting 3x/week service MEX - YEG with 120-seat A319s (12J/108Y). However, I did a quick search here in the Civil Aviation forum, and found no mention to this...
Please do excuse me if this MEX-YEG service has already been discussed in another thread. Perhaps a fellow a.netter can point me in the right direction.
I understand these services have a start date of June 1, 2008 (same time as MEX-YYC).
With this, MX will be serving 5 Canadian destinations from MEX: YVR, YYZ, YUL, YYC and now, YEG.

Yes, it is indeed old news, but good news. MX can expect the combination of 4x to YYC and 3x toYEG to complement rather than compete to service the region on a daily basis...
Thanks for pointin us to the other thread... Given the title of the other thread ("YEG New International Service Announcement") did not grab a lot of interest from Mexican a.nutters... Out of 39 replies to that thread, the vast majority came from Canada, very few from the USA, England, Switzerland, and only one from Mexico... That's why it was hard to find with the research tool. We stand corrected, though...

Indeed, YYC and YEG are about to come... sure this last was a surprise, considering a close opening to YYC, but MX can't wait more time and its just doing the right thing in the current mexican competition scenery. Perhaps by 2010 we can see Hamilton following with a 3X?
