I am going to work in Iraq, and will be flying from IAH to DXB. What are some options, is it worth upgrading? How uncomfortable is it to sit that long, in a middle row? Tell me some storries! Airlines pros and cons

If you can afford the upgrade, get the upgrade. That long in an economy seat is unpleasant, at best. The improved food and sleep that you'll get in business class are absolutely worth it if you have the money to spare.

Tom.

To be honest, if you can survive working in Iraq, I think you should be able to survive 16hrs in economy class Big grin

This from the peace loving people of the PRC.

I'd rather have a hood over my head than have it sawed off by some guy in a dirty nightshirt.

Coach for 15hrs....I would not recommend drinking in order to get throught the flight. I would bring some munchies along in case you are blocked in by your seat mates and you wake up in the middle of the night.

A neck pillow, ear plugs, an eye shade or if you aren't comfortable with that, use a neck tie wrapped around your head as a light blocker. Some chap stick or carmex because being in that dry air so long will chap your lips.

I recommend waking up early on the day of departure so that by the time you reach the plane, you'll be more apt to fall asleep.
