There's some big things going on at FWA. (And no, it's not just the airport's new logo... which IMO, is a huge step up from the temporary logo).

First up is the new Pinnacle hangar. Yes, 9E is using the old Air Wisconsin/Shuttle America hangar, and the hangar will be used for both NW Airlink planes and for "other airlines" (read: DL Connection). Also, Kitty Hawk Air Cargo now owes the Fort Wayne/Allen County Airport Authority only $8.5 million for their now-closed hub (down from $19 million in January).

More on the 9E hangar and the Kitty Hawk proceedings can be read here: http://www.journalgazette.net/apps/p...e?AID=/JG/20080318/LOCAL/803180389

Also, I heard from a Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce employee today about possible new service at FWA. Unfortunately, I can't spill the beans or provide hints, except that it doesn't involve DEN.

FWAERJ..always glad when you post news about goood ol FWA. I am sure the new MSP service will be a success.

New service..hmm..let the guessing begin I suppose. When you take DEN out of the equation, not too many hubs left that FWA actually does not have service to. Unlikely that PIT or STL would be brought back. Maybe US to CLT??

I'm going to say possibly NW to MEM. This may piggy-back on your first statement about the 9E hanger in FWA.

Hmmm... now the MSP-FWA route makes even more sense.

Yea you might as well add DL to NYC and US to DCA!!!!  stirthepot  I think with the flights to MSP, we might just see UA add some competition out west to DEN, but sadly with gas prices we'll probably see nothing  cry   cry   cry   cry   cry   cry   cry

One weekend a month and two (cough, cough 45, 90, 120 days) weeks a year supports my habbit

DEN would be nice (instead of driving to IND to catch F9 for a n/s). Allegiant just needs to stay afloat for four more months on that Sanford flight.  Wink

My brother in law turned down a job in Iowa because of the crappy ass flight from MSP to FWA. Two weeks later, NW launches n/s service to MSP.

Anything to NYC would be fantastic, but doubt anyone wants to put the time into developing that route (or pricing it so that it's viable).
