Got these pics in my email today. She arrives in ATL on the 28th at 1710 local and will be parking over at South Cargo at the old NW hangar. She's a bit too white for me, but I will still love her anyways. Can't wait for her to come home.

B747-400F's don't have the stretched upper deck, so it appears to be a conversion.

My understanding is that B747-400F's did not have the extended upper deck, making this a BCF.

Definately!

Looks really nice. Finally a 747 that calls ATL home, but for some reason, why does the paint on the World 744 remind me of either LAN or AeroMexico??

Airline photography. Whether they're fully clothed, butt naked, having issues or confused I'm taking pictures!!

It's not a BCF. It was converted by Israeli Aerospace in TLV and it is a former Malaysia Airlines plane.

Thanks for posting. The aircraft is most likely former 9M-MPC, line no. 974 from 1993, and carries the registration N740WA for World Airways. It is scheduled to be delivered later this month.

Btw, you can tell a 744 BCF from a BDSF (Israeli converted) by looking at the numbers of windows on the upper deck on the left side. On a "BDSF" all windows behind the upper deck door are plugged, a "BCF" still sports a single window behind the door. Also "BDSF"s have a single window between doors 1L and 2L (directly below the upperdeck door), while on a "BCF" all lower deck windows are plugged (except in some of the doors). There could be a odd example out of the rule that escaped me, but so far all I´ve seen are that way.

It doesn't look like the World logo is on the winglets, but I can't be sure. It looks good on their MD-11's, wonder why they left it off the 747

Agreed, although UPS' scheme came to my mind when I saw it. Everyone seems to be adopting this "style" these days.

I love it as she looks gorgeous. The airline, World, just needs to stretch the blue and down a tad bit further. Then it will look even more awesome.

Word is that the logo will be applied to the winglets.

I wasn't a fan of the new livery when it came out because it is almost identical to UPS (we added the white between the blue and red so it would be "different") but it has grown on me. I can't wait for her to come home.

I agree with Airtran737, Robk and RB211, It kind of looks like the UPS livery and LAN, but it seems that a lot of airlines are getting the same kind of paint job. Aeromexico´s and Arrow Cargo´s are almost identical too.

Love that World will be flying the B744F pretty soon. The livery looks pretty awesome.

Great looking aircraft. I'm jealous  drool  At least there is still some good news for one of the GAL (Global Aero Logistics) carriers.  bigthumbsup

Hi NA,

Interesting to note your comments about the BCF's upper deck window pulgs.

Have a look at some pics of KA's B-KAE and -KAF, they are both different, although these were both done by SIAEC in SIN.

I also believe 9M-MPE which is currently flying with SQ as 9V-SPR will be World's other BDSF.

Nice pix, thanks for sharing.

I just checked the pictures. To me they look the same. A 5-1-1 window pattern on the upper deck.

Is it still with SQ? This aircraft will indeed be N741WA. Btw the ship this thread is about was also planned to be leased to SQ, but somehow SQ ended up with just one leased 744.

Nice livery I hope they add some passenger 747s to their fleet, too. There are too little four holers in service with American airlines  Smile

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

Not happening. The military doesn't want the 747 and there isn't a steady charter market for it.
