Got these pics in my email today. She arrives in ATL on the 28th at 1710 local and will be parking over at South Cargo at the old NW hangar. She's a bit too white for me, but I will still love her anyways. Can't wait for her to come home.
Nice Trip Report!!! Great Pics, thanks for posting!!!! B747Forever

Quoting Charlipr (Reply 1): Were is this aircraft coming from? Directly from Boeing, or is it a -BCF?
It's not a BCF. It was converted by Israeli Aerospace in TLV and it is a former Malaysia Airlines plane.

Thanks for posting. The aircraft is most likely former 9M-MPC, line no. 974 from 1993, and carries the registration N740WA for World Airways. It is scheduled to be delivered later this month.
Btw, you can tell a 744 BCF from a BDSF (Israeli converted) by looking at the numbers of windows on the upper deck on the left side. On a "BDSF" all windows behind the upper deck door are plugged, a "BCF" still sports a single window behind the door. Also "BDSF"s have a single window between doors 1L and 2L (directly below the upperdeck door), while on a "BCF" all lower deck windows are plugged (except in some of the doors). There could be a odd example out of the rule that escaped me, but so far all I´ve seen are that way.

Quoting ER757 (Reply 7): It doesn't look like the World logo is on the winglets, but I can't be sure. It looks good on their MD-11's, wonder why they left it off the 747
Word is that the logo will be applied to the winglets.
Quoting RobK (Reply 8): Agreed, although UPS' scheme came to my mind when I saw it. Everyone seems to be adopting this "style" these days.
I wasn't a fan of the new livery when it came out because it is almost identical to UPS (we added the white between the blue and red so it would be "different") but it has grown on me. I can't wait for her to come home.

Isn't this World's first cargo version, or do they have other cargo ships?

I agree with Airtran737, Robk and RB211, It kind of looks like the UPS livery and LAN, but it seems that a lot of airlines are getting the same kind of paint job. Aeromexico´s and Arrow Cargo´s are almost identical too.
Love that World will be flying the B744F pretty soon. The livery looks pretty awesome.

Great looking aircraft. I'm jealous At least there is still some good news for one of the GAL (Global Aero Logistics) carriers.
35 years of American Trans Air/ATA Airlines, 1973-2008. A great little airline that will not be soon forgotten.

Quoting QF744ER (Reply 19): Have a look at some pics of KA's B-KAE and -KAF, they are both different, although these were both done by SIAEC in SIN.
I just checked the pictures. To me they look the same. A 5-1-1 window pattern on the upper deck.
Quoting QF744ER (Reply 19): I also believe 9M-MPE which is currently flying with SQ as 9V-SPR will be World's other BDSF.
Is it still with SQ? This aircraft will indeed be N741WA. Btw the ship this thread is about was also planned to be leased to SQ, but somehow SQ ended up with just one leased 744.

Nice livery I hope they add some passenger 747s to their fleet, too. There are too little four holers in service with American airlines
It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

Not happening. The military doesn't want the 747 and there isn't a steady charter market for it.

Is World going all cargo and getting out of the passenger charter business.
25 Antonovman: It should have been painted like this one AAh those were the golden days of World Airways Click Here to view the photo
26 Andrewtang: That's not true. B-KAE was converted in Xiamen by TAECO while B-KAF was converted by SIAEC.
27 AirTran737: Nope. Our "newest" airplane N138WA is due for delivery pretty soon. The pax birds will be around for quite a while.
28 Lowrider: Don't tell that to Evergreen, Southern, Polar/Atlas, Northwest Cargo, or Kalitta.
29 AirTran737: The original post was in reference to passenger 747's so once again I reiterate that the military doesn't want a bird that big. Freighther yes, pax b
30 Flynavy: Nice looking bird! We're flooded with new beauties lately here in ATL! Can't wait to get some shots!
31 Gecmd11: Looks nice, I'll be seeing it tonight on the south cargo pad, as i work on the south cargo ramp. What routes are they deploying the 744F on?
32 Flynavy: It isn't here yet. It arrives on the 28th.
34 AirTran737: Hasn't been decided who she's going to fly for. We have been told a few names, but I am not going to divulge that info.
35 GECMD11: oops my bad.....well I'll be there tonight, and on the 28th also.......

37 AirTran737: Perhaps all of us w/ATL badges could meet up when she finally arrives. I could keep tabs on her progress coming out of maintenance and ferrying home.
38 Andrewtang: No worries mate. What is interesting to note is that all BCF converted by TAECO or Korean Air have 3 unplugged windows on the right aft upperdeck. On
40 UK_Dispatcher: Nice to see a World B747 again. I hope we don't have to witness you loving her . It's too white for me too. I'd much rather see her is the classic red
41 OURBOEING: The livery almost looks like that of the new AmericaWest/US Airways. In my opinion it looks GREAT!! Cheers OURBOEING
42 AirTran737: DC-10. I am hoping that the VarigLog MD-11F's will make there way to us, but I doubt it. I agree, and can't wait for her to get here. It would be a b
