Quoting Revo (Thread starter): Bmibaby have announced new Cardiff to Barcelona service. The service starts 27th May and will be flown about twice weekly.
I have no exact details as it has only just appeared on WWs website.
So much for them going bust today !!
This route used to be operated since last year by Thomsonfly and was a tremendous failure and mistake. Thomsonfly tried to promote the route leaving the Coventry route without service and now Barcelona has lost all its TOM flights due low demand.
Supposed that this flight will be seasonal on summer...
What's your opinion?

Since the merger with FCA, TOM are pulling away from the scheduled services (at CWL/DSA/BOH/CVT) and concentrating on the Charter side. So its not just BCN that has been lost. The likes of AMS/PRG/JER and others will be suffering too.
The CWL-BCN was never full, but was a popular route at 4 flights a week with on average 110+ pax on board

Quoting Revo (Reply 6): How do you think WW will do on the route then?
Not frequent enough for business traffic, so that leaves leisure. An awful lot of Barcelona leisure travel is weekends/long weekends. This doesn't lend itself too well to that either. Saturday - Tuesday yes, but hardly flexible.
