Just got a phone call from Aerocondor saying my flight LIS-BGC has been cancelled, and in fact all flight are cancelled for this week. Only tomorrow they'll know if they'll operate next week. Anybody know more? They said it was a technical issue, but Aerocondor have been in a bad financial state recently, and the Longstock takeover didn't make it (which may not be a bad thing given Longstock's history) so what's the current financial status of Aerocondor?

Update: flights won't resume till next Thursday.

Since the government partially subsidises this flight, it is keen to see the situation return to normal. A new tender is likely to be launched.

The latest: Aerocondor has lost it AOC last Friday for not having its aircraft insured:

http://www.portugaldiario.iol.pt/noticia.php?id=933247&div_id=291

I am not sure what this means - are those two aircraft exempted from the ban?

And today the Portuguese government tore up Aerocondor's PSO contract, and said it will launch a public tender to resume flight services as soon as possible.

Aerocondor is toast. The second airline that vanishes within months of being bought by Longstock.
