Mystery Delta?

hi to all.

i just arrived back from my trip to Chicago and while i was there, i took a drive near MDW and as i got closer to the airport i noticed a DL aircraft for sure, but it seemed to be much larger than what they usually fly there(emb 170, crj). I looked at it and i saw the silver bottom and the tail was for sure a DL. To me it looked like a 767-300 but i am not sure if MDW has a runway long enough for a 767. But it was very identical to a 767 but i am very puzzled over what it could be.

Any info would help.

Well a 763 could probably easily land there. But landing isn't the tricky part (or maybe it is *cough* WN), it's taking off that is usually longer. It could probably do it with minimal weight, maybe even short-takeoff procedures.

But, mainline does not fly to MDW, so if there was anything bigger then an E170 you saw there, it had to be a charter or emergency of some sort. I highly doubt it was a 763...perhaps a 738?

That's my conclusion...no guarantee that it's right.

I dint see any delta flight operaitng in or out of MDW on flight aware. Only flights are regionals, nothing with a DAL call sign

The only thing i could remotely think of would be an ABX ex DL 767-200, but i didnt see that on flight aware either

Experience is what you get when what you thought would work out didn't!

They use Champion Air for charters, as they have the NBA charter contract.
