Very, very sad. Although it has been said time and time again, with all the activities that go on, airports are a dangerous place to work.

According to the BBC, fair use:

"The unnamed man, in his 50s, suffered head injuries after being hit by the small vehicle at 1400 GMT. He died at the scene.

He worked for ground handling company Aviance and the incident happened next to Terminal One. No aircraft or passengers were involved.

The British Airports Authority said an investigation was under way."

Thats horrible.
And not even to be killed by an aircraft on the ramp!
I wonder who was at fault, the driver or the man?
Rip mate.

Having worked on the ramp in a past life it really is an alien enviroment very different to what passengers may think. Sure only last week an engineer died in Dublin Airport after falling from a de-icer! Really is a very dangerous place to work!
