Japan's ANA to launch budget Asia airline - Nikkei

TOKYO, March 26 (Reuters) - All Nippon Airways Co Ltd (ANA) (9202.T: Quote, Profile, Research), Japan's second-largest carrier, plans to set up a low-cost Asian airline in an effort to fight growing competition in the region, the Nikkei business daily said on Wednesday.

The new airline, which could be set up as early as the fiscal year starting in April, may be established as a joint venture with another Asian airline, though acquiring another firm is also an option, the Nikkei added.

My take on this is that it will be created along the lines of Air Asia X and Jetstar.

Perhaps we could see somemore 787 order from the ANA parents.  crossfingers

It comes again!

NH stated its idea about a year or so again, but we haven't heard much since. The rumor around here was that it would be something like Jetstar. There would be a max distance for operations (ie max 4000nm) and a limited fleet mix.

The ultimate question is if they would have most of their ops out of HND and then another airport outside of Tokyo like NGO (currently an NH hub).

Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!
